Dr. Mark on Shark Tank?

Have you ever seen the television show Shark Tank?

In a nutshell, it’s a reality T.V. show that showcases budding entrepreneurs who present their product or service ideas to a panel of would-be investors.

It’s become a runaway hit for ABC and the panel of investors have become sudden celebrities.

Although I didn’t exactly appear on the show, several weeks ago, I was asked to speak on stage at the Information Marketing Summit in Costa Mesa, California with one of the original Sharks, Kevin Harrington.

Kevin is considered the godfather of the infomercial and is personally responsible for several billion dollar product launches (yes, that’s Billion with a B.) He created the brand “As Seen on TV,” and his personal net worth is estimated to be between $450-$500 million.

Over the last couple of years, I’ve had the privilege of speaking on stage beside Olympians, television personalities, professional athletes and even a 7-time heavy weight world champion. But I have to admit, sharing the stage with a “Shark,” was pretty cool!

You may be asking yourself why the promoters of this event would ask a small town dentist to present to a group of 300 entrepreneurs attending a seminar on online internet marketing…

The bottom line is, business is business and whether you’re selling widgets, online information products or dental services, building a relationship with your prospects is of paramount importance, and that’s what they asked me to talk to the audience about.
